Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kathy Ng (b.1997) is a multi-media artist. First trained in traditional art practices such as pencil sketching and oil painting, the artist later extended her practice to video production.

 

At university, Ng was hugely inspired by the avant-garde cinema and decided to focus on experimental filmmaking. Her work at the time explored the possibilities of Dadaism and Surrealism in the modern day's art world. 

 

After graduation, Ng found her place digital marketing, producing short videos for clients. This however does not mark the end of her art journey, instead, Ng incorporated her art knowledge into commercial video productions; and aesthetic remains the main aspect in her video making process.
